At Steven Fredrick's Honolulu Tours, we offer several exciting walking themed-tours for our guests. Van shuttle service may be available too.
Guests of the walking tours are required to sign personalized liability forms prior to the start of the tours. The correct spelling of legal names are required. Failure to sign forms will prevent guests from being accepted on the tours. Reservations are required a minimum of 48 hours prior to the tour date. No same-day bookings are accepted. Ghosts and spirits have been a part of Hawaiian folklore for decades. One can not tell a good ghost story without having knowledge about the history of Hawaii and its people. It is the intension of this storyteller to provide our guests with an understanding of the Hawaiian culture in order to appreciate the power of the ghost stories of Hawaii.
The Honolulu Ghost Tour is a two-mile walk to haunted sites and mystical places in downtown Honolulu and Chinatown. Paranormal activity is known to occur at several of the sites visited. Our tour visits haunted locations where ghosts and spirits, such as Night Marchers, are known to roam. The tour visits famous landmarks, like Iolani Palace, and ordinary office buildings, where horrible murders occurred. This four-hour tour includes a rest stop at a haunted bar.
Spooky Waikiki, The Dark Side of Paradise
From the heart of Waikiki, come explore the dark side of the tourist district. On this tour, we visit sites of tragic events, both from the past and the present. We examine old beach-side businesses still operating today. We visit elegant hotels linked to mysterious events of the past. We visit a fast-food restaurant, which is the site of a contemporary murder. This night-time tour is not for the weak of heart. Cost: $75 per person.

"The Black Camel" Movie Tour.
Are you a fan of South-Seas Cinema? Do you enjoy seeing old movies about Old Hawaii? If so, this tour is just for you. This tour is a step-by-step, scene by scene, reconstruction tour of the Charlie Chan movie "The Black Camel," as shot on Oahu in 1931.
This detailed tour includes short rest stops. Participants are encouraged to carry sun protection items, and to wear comfortable walking shoes and clothes. Cost: $40.00 to $75.00 per person.

"WALK WITH THE DEAD" GHOST TOUR !!!
Rated the most popular Honolulu ghost tour for Halloween for over ten years, the 2024 tours promise to be just as ghastly. This is a four-hour walking tour to the dark side of Honolulu. A visit to sites of crime, murder, suicide, madness and death.
GHOST TOURS IN OCTOBER: Every night in October 2024. Starting at 7:00 P.M. in downtown Honolulu. Due to the intensity of the ghost stories, this tour is recommended only for adults, 21 and over. Reservations are required 48 hours prior to tour date. Don't wait until the last day to make your reservation. Space is limited for this popular tour. Cost: $90 per person.

Ghost Tour. "It was our last night on Oahu, so we decided to go on a ghost tour of Honolulu and Chinatown. Our guide was Steve Fredrick, who is a well regarded historian of island history. Our first stop was Iolani Palace. We walked through a graveyard and visited the capital building and areas of Chinatown. Steve took us to a haunted bar so we could socialize with the rest of the group. Our last stop was to the 7th floor of an office building, supposedly the site of a gruesome murder in the 1970s. At our hotel room on Kauai, images from our visit to Oahu were wiped out. The next day, all of our pictures from Pearl Harbor and the Aquarium were recovered. Not one picture from Steve's ghost tour was recovered. What happened to the pictures we took? I think there was something on them that we were not supposed to see. The tour is available seven nights a week, beginning at sunset. Guests meet the tour guide at a well-known site located in the Capitol District, near downtown. Free parking.
During the tour, we may encounter ghosts and spirits. Some are happy, playful spirits, while others ... are not.
Guests may find that some of the ghost stories are intense in nature. This tour is recommended only for adults. Children are not permitted on the tour. Cost: $75 per person. Special discount rates are available for group bookings.

The Charlie Chan Mystery Tour.
The world-famous police detective Charlie Chan is missing! Nobody knows where he is. The Charlie Chan Mystery Tour is an interactive walking tour through downtown Honolulu. The intent of the tour is to uncover information leading to the disappearance of Inspector Chan.
Through a three mile/four-hour walking tour, the Charlie Chan Mystery Tour investigates sites associated with Charlie Chan, including detective Chang Apana's old Chinatown neighborhood and the piers adjacent to Honolulu Harbor.
By means of a series of clues and historical notes, guests visit the sites frequented by detective Apana, author Earl Derr Biggers, and the cast and crew of the movie The Black Camel (1931). The tour visits the sites of former police stations, coffee shops, gambling houses, movie theaters, and the residence of Number One Son.
The Charlie Chan Mystery Tour starts in downtown Honolulu and passes through Aloha Tower Marketplace and Chinatown. The tour includes a half-hour break. (Each guest is responsible for his/her dinner during the break.)

Hawai'i Wartime History Tour.
Step back in time to World War II Hawai'i. Join historian Steven Fredrick on a two-and-one-half mile walk through the streets of downtown Honolulu and Chinatown.
The four-hour tour visits original sites related to the Martial Law years (1941-1944) in Hawai'i. In the Capitol District, see the Executive Offices occupied by the Military Governors. Stand at the location of the Evacuation Drills of 1943. Walk the route of the V-J Day parade celebration. In Chinatown, walk the streets to the recreation facilities frequented by U.S. servicemen.
The tour starts mid-afternoon in downtown Honolulu. Cost: $75 per person.
Participants are encouraged to carry sun protection items, and to wear comfortable walking shoes and clothes. The tour includes a rest stop.
Our next tour takes us to the world-famous beach at Waikiki.
